Step into the beauty of Ascension through the timeless words of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and the King James Bible.
Join us for Choral Evensong for Ascension, where scripture, prayer, and music are woven together in a liturgy that has shaped Christian worship for centuries. This service offers an opportunity to hear the English choral tradition in its true setting. Hear one of the first Tudor anthems in the English language with Thomas Tallis’s “If ye love me” and a quintessential 20th century British anthem “Behold, the Tabernacle” by William Henry Harris.
The service led by The Reverend Daniel M. Cenci and sung by the Pohick Choir continues in this Anglican tradition rooted in beauty, order, and transcendence. Whether you regularly attend Evensong or for the first time, all are welcome to this observance of the Ascension.
