2026 Pohick Church Easter Morning Flame Walk – April 5
- Pohick Church Easter Morning Flame Walk- On April 5, 2026, we will be walking “Paschal Flame Walk “from the old site of the earlier Pohick Church approximately two miles south of our present Pohick Church location along the Old Colchester Road. We would like all participants to arrive at the Old Colchester Road Parking Lot at 5:30 am before we shuttle the last group of people not later than 5:45 am to the STARTING POINT. We plan to leave the old site at about 6:00 am to ensure our arrival in front of the church at around 6:40 am. Following the 6:45 am Easter Prayer, there will be a “Hot Cross Buns” coffee hour at about 7:00 am in the Common Room, sponsored by the Brotherhood of St. Andrew and coordinated by Neil Sunderland.
- We will bring two Davy lamps (representing the Easter Flame obtained from the National Cathedrala night before) for the flame walk. We will have two people (one in the front and one at back of the walking group) carrying the flame. For more information, please contact Femi Ayorinde at 571-355-3449 or drayorinde@cox.net.
- Easter Coffee Hourswill be held after the 7:30 am, 9am, and the 11:15 am Church Services on Easter Sunday.
- This is one of those times that we ask the congregation to assist with providing finger foods to help feed the large crowds that attend on Easter Sunday. Donations should be brought to the kitchen prior to which ever service you are attending. We thank you in advance for your donations.
Coffee hour after the 11:15 service: lemonade and cookies instead of coffee, will be served in the courtyard. Tables will be set up on Saturday under the portico. We need a couple of volunteers to help set up the cups and bring the lemonade, water and cookies from the kitchen. Of course, in case of rain, things will just happen as usual in the Common Room.
We would also like to have a few volunteers to help clean-up after each coffee hour, especially after 11:15.
Please let us know if you are able to help.
