Join the members of Pohick Church and the Sons of the American Revolution as we unveil a new Virginia State Historic marker on the parish grounds. The marker commemorates the contributions of George Mason to Pohick Church and the Truro Parish. The marker also highlights Mason's work in promoting freedom and religious liberty in Virginia and the United States. A light reception will follow in the courtyard.

· Join Rev. Daniel on Sunday mornings at 9:15 in the annex for Crusading Conversations. Crusading Conversations is a transformational 5-episode mini-series for Christians, both individuals and small-groups. Utilizing the very best scholarship, the Revd. Dr. Ben Randall, an Anglican minister and Christian apologist, explains why the 'crusades' started, why the Church needn't feel ashamed, and will give you greater confidence to share the incredible Good News of Jesus "Christ, and Him crucified."
· THIS SUNDAY AT COFFEE HOURS: Purchase your FAIR tickets in advance: $1 = 1 ticket. Tickets purchased in advance will be sold with a premium: $20 = 25 tickets. All purchases can be made with cash, check or credit card. Additionally, tickets will be sold in the parish office during regular office hours. Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the Fair.
· Pohick Country Fair: This year we will be using tickets at all booths (except vendor booths and the Golden Dove gift shop). You will be able to use your tickets everywhere, from pony rides to funnel cakes, face painting to apple butter!

Afghan Ministry Request
Due to a last-minute request for Back to School clothes, we gave our families Marshalls and Visa gift cards to shop for themselves. If anyone would like to make a donation to replenish our Afghan Ministry account it would be greatly appreciated. Any donation amount will help to cover the $400 in gift cards we provided for them.
Ruqia, the 25 year old mother of 2, who works at Giant part time is studying for the GED. She has a GED Test Prep 2024-2025 book and would like someone to help her with it. Her English proficiency is pretty remarkable. Anyone who could possibly help, please email Patty Mitchell, pdmitch1@gmail.com.

· We are currently enrolling students in Education for Ministry (EfM).
The program is four years long (September to June) 7pm to 9pm with snack and Theological Reflection AKA TR. It has been revamped last year for the ZOOM platform.
(no more Reading and Reflection Guide or McCullough.) There also is a one year class called Wide Angle.
Even if you are an EfM graduate, consider beginning a new class. Registration costs $345; however, scholarships are available.

The 80th Annual Pohick Country Fair Needs You!
Our milestone Country Fair is quickly approaching, and we need volunteers to help make it our best—and smoothest—Fair yet! This year, we are excited to welcome the Virginia 250 Mobile Museum, which is expected to bring an especially large crowd. That makes our volunteers more important than ever.
Thank you to all those who have signed up to help. We still need 4 or 5 people to help manage Parking around the campus. Additional needs: help with games and face painter, and overseeing pumpkin painting, Setup and breakdown, Pony rides, Visitor assistance, and General floaters—our flexible, ready-for-anything heroes!

· A special thank you to the Brotherhood for providing Pohick Church with Forward Day by Day quarterly issues. The latest issue, which includes daily reflections that follow the Bible verses, is available in the church. Only a few left!
· The Pohick Chapter of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew invites all the men and youth of Pohick to attend any of our Saturday 8:00 am meetings for fellowship, breakfast, discussion of issues we are working on to support Pohick, and about 20 to 30 minutes of bible study.

Healing Hearts: Grief Support Group
Have you been recently widowed?
Have you recently lost a family member or beloved friend?
Are you or someone in your inner circle coping with a difficult health diagnosis or treatment?
Pohick’s Healing Hearts grief support group offers a safe, confidential space that connects you with others who understand the range of emotions that you may experience as you process and integrate your loss and grief into day-to-day living.
Marleen McCabe is Healing Hearts facilitator. She is a member of the Trauma Incident Reduction Association and has received extensive training in the transformative power of grief, loss, and bereavement.
Healing Hearts meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 10:30 am to noon in Classroom C.
