Begin Fall with a Pohick Church history refresher! Please come and learn about the rich history of Pohick. The Historic Pohick Church Docent Guild normally conducts these sessions twice a year for anyone who wants to learn more about Pohick and its connection to our Founding Fathers including George Washington and George Mason. The next Pohick Church history refresher session will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The session will feature videotaped lectures by Father Don Binder on the history of Pohick Church, review of the historic timeline for Pohick Church and Truro Parish and a demonstration tour of the church. Coffee and treats are included. Lunch will be provided. The session will begin at 9:30 am and complete about 2:30pm. It will be held in the Parish House Annex and will have a virtual link for those current Docent Guild members who are unable to attend in person but want to get a review and others with interest in our rich history but not desiring to be a member of the Docent Guild. Those desiring to become members of the Guild are requested to attend in person.
For those attending in person:
There is no charge for the training session, but you must indicate in advance if you do desire a manual for the session. Attendees who have been through the training before and are attending for a refresher will already have one.
