Lorton Community Action Center Food Drive

The Pohick Outreach Team invites you to drop off donations for the Lorton Community Action Center! The drive-through is the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.

LCAC’s Food Bank provides families in need with safe and nutritious food as the foundation of a well-balanced diet. The food stored at the pantry is donated by local communities, civic groups, stores, and individuals. The food is sorted and distributed to all those in need who live in Lorton, Fort Belvoir, and Newington areas to include seniors, unemployed, homeless, single parents, and families struggling to make ends meet. LCAC has partnerships with homeless shelters and food kitchens to share our excess, making full use of every donation.

The LCAC reports that the most needed items include:

  • Oatmeal
  • Canned fruits
  • Canned tomatoes
  • Rice (1 and 2 pound bags)
  • Soup
  • Dry beans
  • Snacks – both individual and large sizes
  • Baby wipes
  • Feminine hygiene pads

The Outreach Team will take your drive-by, socially distanced donations in the driveway alongside the Parish House on Saturday morning between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon. Thank you for your help! Please contact Edwardene Pitcock with any questions, epitcock@mindspring.com.
