The Community of Hope International hosted the webinar, Dealing with Loss and Grief in the Midst of a Pandemic on December 2, 2020. Produced in collaboration with the Episcopal Church Foundation, the webinar featured Rev. Laura Masterson, Associate Rector for Outreach & Welcome at Christ Church Cathedral and the Rev. Dr. Lynn Ronaldi, Rector, Pohick Episcopal Church, both COHI chaplains and distinguished professionals. They discussed the challenges we face during the 2020 holiday season and possible interventions through science, faith, and Benedictine Spirituality.
The Rev. Dr. Lynn Ronaldi, BCC is the 16th Rector of Pohick Episcopal Church in Lorton, VA, and is Pohick’s first female Rector. Prior to Pohick, Lynn served as Rector of Church of the Incarnation in West Point, MS. Before that, she was Rector of Church of the Advent in Summer, MS. She was a professional Hospice Chaplain, and a CPE Chaplain Resident in Houston, TX. She ministered for several years as a Community of Hope International lay chaplain. A Spiritual Director, today she serves on the Community of Hope Int’l Board of Directors as the Board Chaplain. Rev. Lynn was ordained to the priesthood in 2013, after receiving her MDiv from St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston. In 2016, she earned a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from the Sewanee School of Theology, where she also completed Anglican studies. Her doctoral thesis, “Towards a Spiritual Formation Model of Clinical Pastoral Education,” created a new approach to clinical pastoral education (CPE), by integrating Benedictine spirituality into the CPE model. Rev. Lynn also holds a B.A. in Journalism from Ole Miss, and an M.B.A. from The University of Dallas.
The Rev. Laura Masterson is new Associate Rector for Outreach and Welcome for Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington, VA. Laura recently graduated from the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas with her Master of Divinity and was ordained in the Diocese of Atlanta. She is married to Greg, and they have two children, Zachary and Lydia.
